Anambra Information Ministry Celebrates Year- End, Rewards Outstanding Staff.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has commended staff members of the Ministry of Information for their dedication and hard work. He made the commendation during the Ministry's End-of-Year party and Award Day, held in Awka.
Dr. Mefor who recognized ten outstanding staff, stressed the importance of dedication and hard work. The awardees included; Nnedimma Okeke, Uche Kalu, Chukwudi Nwauba, Chukwuka Ugokwe, Michael Ezenwata, Ifenyinwa Ogwo, Obiageli Nwankwo, Uzochukwu Ugwunze, Chizoba Okeke and Juliana Nwachukwu.
Others were Regina Igwebuike and Uchechi Okani. The award categories comprised Best Editor, Best Reporter, and Best Dedicated Staff. Dr. Mefor attributed his achievements in the ministry, within just four months and two days in office, to teamwork, emphasizing that "it's possible because we work together."
Dr. Mefor emphasized, "Your contributions to the bulletin have made our success possible. I assure you that we will sustain and improve the bulletin, making it the best among its peers."
He urged information officers in local governments to expand their reporting beyond Anambra State, emphasizing the need for a paradigm shift in their approach to work, encouraging them to be more proactive and less dormant.
According to Dr. Mefor, information officers should have a strong online presence, including blogs and Instagram, to effectively report news and trends. He stressed the importance of orientation to enhance their skills and knowledge in modern reporting techniques.
As Christmas celebrations approach, the commissioner advised the information officers to spend responsibly, considering the economic challenges and family needs that come with the new year. He also reminded them to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the state government's security initiative, "Operation Udo Ga Achi" aimed at ensuring peace and safety in the state.
Earlier, the Acting Director of Information, Mr. Emmanuel Ikegwuani, expressed gratitude to God for His guidance throughout the year. He also thanked Governor Soludo for his significant contributions to the ministry's progress.
Mr. Ikegwuani encouraged the information officers to adapt to new trends to achieve even greater success.
