Democracy Day: Anambra State Police Embark on Safety Awareness Walk and Anti-Violence Campaign

The Anambra State Police Command launched a Safety Awareness Walk and Anti-Violence Campaign on June 12, 2025, in collaboration with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). This initiative seeks to foster community engagement, promote peace, and combat kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state
In a statement issued to the press in Awka, by the Anambra State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Tochukwu Ikenga elucidated that the walk initiative, which traversed key locations in Nnewi, including Nkwo Triangle, Nwafor Orizu Roundabout, and First Bank Junction, as well as Nnobi Junction, underscored the significance of collaborative efforts in sustaining peace and security.
The campaign effectively raised awareness about the detrimental effects of violent crimes, emphasizing the need to cultivate a culture of peace and non-violence, while also strengthening police-community relations.
According to SP Ikenga, the initiative is anticipated to cultivate trust, facilitate community engagement, and thereby enhance the overall security architecture of the state.
