NAWOJ Confers Grand Patron Title on Anambra First Lady for Empowering Women and Girls

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, has honored Dr. Nonye Soludo, the wife of Anambra State Governor, with the esteemed title of Grand Patron in recognition of her tireless efforts in promoting health, education, and cultural advocacy in the state.
During a courtesy visit, NAWOJ's Chairperson, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, presented the award, commending Dr. Soludo's impactful initiatives, including the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo program, which has improved the lives of countless women and children.
The association expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the First Lady despite her demanding schedule, describing her as a superb leader whose maternal care extends to the entire state.
Comrade Ifejika emphasized NAWOJ’s commitment to supporting and investing in Dr. Soludo’s initiatives, especially her pioneering Healthy Living campaign, which has significantly improved public health awareness.
In her response, Mrs. Soludo thanked NAWOJ for their recognition and encouragement. She urged women journalists and the media at large to champion the preservation and promotion of the Igbo language, highlighting the critical need to counter the gradual decline of the language within the community.
She expressed pride in her Igbo heritage and called on the media to lead the campaign for cultural identity by embracing and propagating the Igbo language.
Mrs. Soludo underscored the paramount importance of health, advising NAWOJ members to prioritize natural nutrition, adequate rest, hydration, and regular physical exercise as foundational elements for disease prevention and overall wellbeing.
She assured the association of her husband, Governor Charles Soludo’s steadfast support for their endeavors and encouraged them to remain focused and diligent in their mission to effect positive change through journalism.This event underscored the collaborative partnership between the state’s leadership and women journalists in enhancing social welfare, cultural preservation, and health advocacy within Anambra State.
