CP Orutugu Thanks Security Stakeholders for Ensuring Peaceful Governorship Election

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has expressed deep appreciation to security agencies, community leaders, and residents for their invaluable support during the recently concluded Anambra Governorship election.
Speaking in Awka, CP Orutugu highlighted that the peaceful environment recorded throughout the State was a direct result of the combined efforts of sister security agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), traditional rulers, youth groups, and other key stakeholders.
He noted that their collaborative commitment helped sustain peace and promote communal harmony before, during, and after the polls.
The Commissioner emphasized that this partnership significantly improved operational coordination, contributing to the success of the Command’s election security strategy, which safeguarded voters to freely exercise their franchise in a secure setting.
Commending the police officers for their professionalism, dedication, and resilience during the election period, CP Orutugu reiterated the Command’s steadfast dedication to maintaining public order and protecting lives and property across the state.
He also appealed to residents to continue backing the Police and other security agencies in preserving the peaceful gains made during the elections, urging them to promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals that may threaten public peace.
Recall that ahead of the election, CP Orutugu led a State-wide security advocacy tour, engaging with traditional rulers, youth leaders, religious groups, and market unions, stressing the importance of peace, voter confidence, and community partnership for a violence-free election.The Command acknowledged the high level of compliance but encouraged residents to uphold the spirit of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect to strengthen collective resilience against divisive forces.
