‎The Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, has urged members to approach their responsibilities with diligence and dedication, eschewing complacency.

‎ Delivering this message at the NAWOJ  congress, held at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Center, Awka, Comrade Ifejika emphasized the imperative of purposefulness, boldness, and unity among women journalists.

‎She stressed that active participation in congresses is a fundamental duty of every NAWOJ member, and warned against engaging in sabotage or anti-association activities, citing the association's constitution, which stipulates suspension for executive officers who miss three consecutive congresses.

‎The Chairman encouraged members to foster professional networks, collaborate with colleagues from other states, and create online platforms to promote their work and generate income. She also urged members to pursue ongoing training and development to remain abreast of current trends.

‎NAWOJ commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a relatively smooth election, and called on the commission to continue supporting the media through timely payment and collaboration.
