Anambra NAWOJ Moves to Empower Members, Pledges Inclusion in Beneficial Programmes

The Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, has expressed appreciation to members for their massive participation during the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration.
Addressing the members at the Nigeria Union Journalists Secretariat, Awka, Comrade Ifejika encouraged the nawojians to remain actively aligned with all programmes and activities of the association, noting that such commitment would foster a sense of pride and belonging. She added that she would be proud of any member who leads by example and lives up to expectations.
She described NAWOJ as an accessible and reputable professional body that anyone would be pleased to associate with. She emphasized that the association must not be excluded from programmes and initiatives that could benefit its members.
The Chairperson further announced plans to organize capacity-building training for members, urging everyone to take advantage of such opportunities. “No one knows where it will lead them, and there are other opportunities ahead,” she said.
She reiterated that NAWOJ is not solely about holding meetings but is also committed to empowering women. She therefore encouraged members to participate fully in all empowerment and training programmes, stressing that “a good name takes one higher.”
