LP Convention: Ikezue Tasks New Leaders on Unity, Pledges Support for Party Growth 


‎The Labour Party (LP) Senatorial aspirant for Anambra Central, Venerable Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, has extended his congratulations to the newly elected national leaders of the party, led by Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, following their emergence at the party’s 2026 Elective National Convention. He charged them to regard their election as a call to greater service, unity, and sacrifice in furtherance of the party’s ideals.

‎Speaking at the convention, held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, Venerable Ikezue described their emergence as a clear expression of the confidence reposed in them by party members across the federation. He noted that the responsibilities ahead require humility, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the collective interest of the party and the Nigerian people.

‎He underscored the imperative of love, mutual respect, and inclusiveness in the leadership process, stressing that the strength of the Labour Party lies in its capacity to accommodate diverse voices and perspectives. According to him, cultivating an environment in which every member feels valued, irrespective of status or background, remains pivotal to sustaining party cohesion and growth.

‎Addressing the convention’s theme, “Labour Party Rising: United for Victory,” Venerable Ikezue highlighted the significance of unity, resilience, and collective commitment among members. He stated that the theme reflects the party’s renewed resolve to consolidate its achievements and position itself as a formidable entity within Nigeria’s political landscape.

‎While pledging his continued support for the new leadership, the senatorial aspirant called on party members to rally behind the executives and refrain from actions capable of engendering division. He maintained that the tasks ahead demand a shared vision and concerted effort, adding that only through unity and purposeful leadership can the party attain electoral success and advance people-oriented governance.

‎Venerable Ikezue expressed optimism that, with sustained cooperation and strategic mobilization, the Labour Party is well-positioned to secure future electoral victories and deepen its impact nationwide.

‎The convention was attended by eminent party stakeholders from across the federation, including the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti; representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC); the Trade Union Congress (TUC); and members of the press, among others.
