‎Anambra Police Warn Against Use of Unregistered, Tinted Vehicles, Covered Number Plates

‎By Chizoba Njaka

‎The Anambra State Police Command has warned Ndi Anambra against the use of unregistered vehicles, vehicles with covered number plates, and illegally tinted vehicles, saying such practices pose serious threats to public safety and security.

‎In an official statement issued in Awka on June 30 to Anambra residents, the command noted that criminals have repeatedly exploited unregistered and tinted vehicles, as well as concealed number plates, to perpetrate crimes and evade identification by security agencies.

‎The police explained that the continued use of such vehicles undermines ongoing efforts to combat crime in the state, stressing that proper vehicle registration and visible number plates are essential for effective law enforcement and crime prevention.

‎The command urged motorists to comply with existing traffic and security regulations by ensuring their vehicles are duly registered, their number plates remain visible, and any vehicle tint complies with legal requirements.

‎It emphasized that the restrictions are aimed at enhancing public safety and preventing criminal elements from using vehicles to wreak havoc across the state.

‎The Anambra State Police Command appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies by adhering to the directive, assuring that collective compliance will contribute to a safer and more secure environment for all.

‎The command used the opportunity to urge Ndi Anambra to remain law-abiding and be guided by the directive in the interest of peace and security.
