‎The Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA) has on Aug. 27 joined the government and people of Anambra State in celebrating the 35th anniversary of the state, reaffirming its commitment to building a healthier and HIV-free society.
‎
‎In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, ANSACA described the 35-year journey of Anambra as one characterised by growth, resilience and remarkable progress, noting that the milestone provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements recorded across various sectors, including healthcare.
‎
‎The agency expressed appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, for his continued support and commitment to strengthening the state’s response to HIV and improving the wellbeing of residents.
‎
‎According to ANSACA, the support of the Soludo administration has continued to enhance efforts in HIV prevention, testing, treatment, care and community awareness across the state.
‎
‎The agency said its programmes are focused not only on expanding access to quality HIV services but also on ensuring that residents have the right information to make informed decisions about their health.
‎
‎ANSACA further emphasised the importance of addressing HIV-related stigma, urging Ndi Anambra to promote compassion, inclusion and support for people living with HIV.
‎
‎As Anambra marks 35 years of its creation, the agency pledged to sustain its efforts towards a healthier state where everyone can access quality HIV services and live free from HIV-related stigma.
‎
‎ANSACA also called for continued collaboration among government agencies, communities, healthcare providers, development partners and residents to achieve the vision of a healthier and HIV-free Anambra.
‎
‎The agency congratulated Ndi Anambra on the anniversary and expressed optimism that the state would continue to record greater progress in health and human development in the years ahead.
