Ikezue Congratulates Yunusa on Appointment as Obi’s Northern Political Adviser
Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Amb. Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, has congratulated Dr. Tanko Yunusa on his appointment as Political Adviser, Northern Nigeria, to the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi.
Ikezue, who disclosed this while addressing journalists in Awka, described the appointment as a testament to Yunusa’s competence, capacity and steadfast commitment to the Obidient Movement and the New Nigeria project.
He noted that Yunusa’s previous role as National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement had demonstrated his leadership qualities, sacrifices and strategic ability to mobilise Nigerians towards the pursuit of good governance.
According to Ikezue, Yunusa’s new responsibility comes at a crucial time ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the Northern region remains an important part of the wider aspiration for a New Nigeria.
He expressed confidence in Yunusa’s ability to engage with, mobilise and unite diverse stakeholders across the region, saying such efforts would strengthen the movement and expand its reach.
Ikezue said Yunusa was taking up the new assignment on the foundation of his previous contributions, expressing confidence that he would bring his experience and capacity to bear on the responsibility.
“Having worked closely with you, I am confident this new assignment shall indeed be building on a strong foundation that you have already laid, and I have no doubt you will excel,” Ikezue said.
He prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Yunusa as he assumes the new role, expressing the hope that his tenure would contribute to the success of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the 2027 general elections.
