Anambra State Govt. Introduces New Security Measures, Enhance Safetiness.

The Anambra State Government through the office of the Special Adviser on Community Security has introduced new security measures to enhance the safety and security of citizens and visitors in the state.
In a press release signed by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, stated that the directives aimed at strengthening the state's security architecture and promoting a secure environment for all.
According to the report, "all hotel guests must provide a valid government-issued ID (National Identity Card, International Passport, or Voter's Card) to the hotel management while hotel owners on the other hand must photocopy the documents and submit them to the President General of the community, who will forward them to the local government mayor and the State government.
It warned that failure to comply with the directive will result in the forfeiture of the hotel facility and potential prosecution.
The report also instructed all landlords and Landladies to obtain a form from their President General for tenants occupying their houses or shops adding that tenants must fill out those forms using a valid government-issued identity card.
It states, "any Landlords and landladies who fails to submit the forms to the government through the President General will forfeit their property and face prosecution".
The release as well notified the general public that henceforth the President Generals will be serving as the Chairmen of the Security Committee of Agunaechemba in their respective communities and must oversee the daily operations of the Agunaechemba security outfit, submit detailed monthly reports to the government adding that failure to submit the reports will attract suspension and potential sanctions.
It however encouraged the general public to report any suspicious activities or kidnappers to the authorities promising that a reward of five million and above will be given to those who provided valuable information.
The information released noted that the directives aimed at promoting a safe and secure environment in Anambra State urging all citizens and stakeholders to cooperate and support the initiatives.
