NNPP NEC Meeting: Barrister Ekwueme Stresses Importance of Accountability in Governance

Barrister Peter Ekwueme, the Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election, has emphasized the imperative of transparency and accountability in governance.
Barrister Ekwueme emphasized during the National Executive Council meeting of the party in Abuja that the most effective means of ensuring citizens reap the full benefits of democratic governance is through transparent and auditable financial management systems. This, he noted, guarantees the proper utilization and implementation of allocated funds, thereby promoting accountability and good governance.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to party members for their unwavering support since he joined the party. He also reaffirmed his commitment to realizing the vision that guided the establishment of the Youth Association of Anambra South Senatorial District (YAASA), an organization he founded seven years ago to advocate for transparency and accountability from elected officials representing Anambra South.
Barrister Ekwueme, founder of the Peter Ekwueme Development Foundation (PEDEF), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free legal, health, education, and social support to marginalized communities, has publicly denounced the historical mismanagement, deceptive practices, and ineffectual representation that have plagued the Anambra South Senatorial District. He pledged to rectify these issues through the implementation of annual, openly audited financial and resource reports, ensuring transparency and accountability in the utilization of resources belonging to the constituents of the Senatorial District.
Earlier, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the NNPP, emphasized the party's formidable presence, characterizing it as a stable and focused opposition force steadfastly advocating for democratic advancement and good governance throughout Nigeria.
