The Peter Ekwueme Development Foundation (PEDEF) has recently unveiled plans to host a pioneering Inter-Local Government football tournament, bringing together the seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) that comprise the Anambra South Senatorial District.

This innovative initiative aims to foster unity, promote healthy competition, and provide a platform for grassroots talent development among the youth in the region.

It is also designed to identify, nurture, and showcase grassroots football talent, thereby providing a platform for participants to access national and international opportunities which aligns with the founder's steadfast commitment to empowering contemporary youth as well as  revitalize inter-community and local government relations, cultivating harmony, unity, and healthy competition among the seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the Anambra South Senatorial District.

Recall in December 2024, PEDEF implemented a large-scale, multi-location Mega Medical Outreach initiative, carefully planned and executed across six selected sites within the Anambra South Senatorial District.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with a significant turnout of beneficiaries thus provided a wide range of free medical services, including:diagnostic tests for blood sugar and blood pressure, HIV screening, surgical interventions for appendicitis and hernia, vision acuity tests as well as distribution of free medicated eyeglasses.

The Mega Medical Outreach demonstrated PEDEF's commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of the local population, aligning with its mission to provide accessible and quality healthcare services.

Meanwhile, Barrister Peter Ekwueme, who is the founder of the Peter Ekwueme Development Foundation (PEDEF), is a multifaceted professional with expertise in debt recovery law, real estate development, and advocacy for good governance. With a proven track record of championing the causes of the marginalized and oppressed, and has established himself as a steadfast advocate for the rights of the underprivileged.

Notably, Barrister Ekwueme hails from Oko in Orumba North Local Government Area. Seven years ago, he founded the Youth Association, Anambra South Senatorial District (YAASA), a visionary organization dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance among political officeholders in Anambra South Senatorial District. YAASA's mission aligns with Barrister Ekwueme's unwavering commitment to empowering the youth and fostering a culture of responsibility among elected officials.

Barrister Peter Ekwueme's recent declaration to contest for the Senate seat under the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) platform is motivated by his unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability. His decision is rooted in the conviction that the historical mismanagement, deceptive practices, and ineffectual representation experienced in the Senatorial district can be rectified through the implementation of annual open audited accounting of all financial and non-financial resources belonging to the people of the Senatorial district. This approach aligns with the NNPP's core values, which emphasize transparency, accountability, and good governance.

The football tournament is part of a comprehensive series of initiatives devised by Barrister Peter Ekwueme, a 42-year-old Debt Recovery Attorney, aimed at positively impacting the lives of the constituents of Anambra South Senatorial District.
