Security Operatives Intercept Kidnapping, Rescue Three Victims Along Onitsha Expressway

A coordinated operation conducted by the Joint Security Team has successfully rescued three individuals who were being held captive, along the Onitsha/Owerri Express Road in Ozubulu.
In a statement issued by the Anambra State Police Command, signed by Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the joint security team promptly transported the rescued victims to a medical facility for treatment, as they had sustained various injuries inflicted by the perpetrators.
The victims are presently undergoing medical treatment and are exhibiting a positive response to care. Upon completion of their medical care, they will undergo a debriefing session with the Police authorities.
Upon receiving reports of the abduction at Nkwelle-Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government, a statewide alert was issued to various security checkpoints, prompting a swift response to facilitate the rescue of the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
However, the Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu directed the operatives to augment their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators. He reassured the people of Anambra that the Command is steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives and properties adding that the Command will maintain a proactive and relentless campaign to thwart destructive activities by criminal elements, thereby upholding public safety and order.
