Joint Security Team Steps Up Security in Nnewi and Ihiala, Commends Residents, for Economic  Growth

The Anambra State Joint Security Task Force, comprising the Nigeria Police Force, 302 Artillery Regiment (GS) of the Nigerian Army, Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy, Department of State Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Anambra State Vigilante Service, has enhanced security patrols across the state, with a particular focus on Nnewi and Ihiala areas. The operation aims to proactively mitigate potential security threats in the area. The security patrol convoy, comprising armored vehicles, was deliberately deployed to reassure business owners and residents, encouraging them to resume their normal activities without fear of insecurity.

According to the Anambra State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, announced that the Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu said that the security patrol convoy, consisting of armored vehicles, was strategically deployed to provide reassurance to business owners and residents. The initiative aims to encourage them to resume their normal activities without apprehension, fostering a secure environment that promotes economic stability.

 CP Orutugu extended commendations to the residents of Awka and Onitsha, along with key stakeholders including bus drivers' associations and market leaders for their unwavering stance against acts that compromise national peace and their dedication to collaborative initiatives that drive economic growth in the region, with notable progress observed on Mondays.

He said, the Joint Security Task Force, led by the Police, remains committed to its mandate of maintaining peace and security, safeguarding citizens, and fostering an environment conducive to economic growth and development in the state. This commitment is evident in their collaborative efforts with other security agencies and stakeholders to achieve a secure and prosperous environment.
