Debunking Idam's Baseless Allegations Against Gov Soludo Over Abakaliki Street Renaming
By Chizoba Njaka
Anambra State Government has become aware of a publication containing unfounded and misleading assertions made by M.O. Idam Esq. against Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as reported by some online news outlets. The claim that Governor Soludo renamed Abakaliki Street to Club Street is categorically false.
The Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, issued a statement in Awka, clarifying that the renaming of Abakaliki Street occurred during the administration of former Governor Willie Obiano. Dr. Mefor noted that it is unbecoming of a legal practitioner to make public statements without verifying the facts.
It further advised M.O. Idam Esq. to retract his statement, emphasizing that individuals of integrity and honor typically acknowledge and correct their mistakes.
The Anambra State Government reassured the citizens that Governor Soludo would continue to exercise his authority responsibly, in line with the mandate bestowed upon him by the people. This responsible governance has yielded significant benefits, including the absence of borrowing, and has sparked widespread calls for Governor Soludo's reelection on November 8, 2025.
Moreover, the statement urged M.O. Idam Esq. to focus on issues pertinent to his own state, if he indeed exists and is not a fictional entity, rather than disseminating misinformation about Anambra State.
