NAWOJ Honours Chinwe Okoli, Launches Backyard Farming Initiative

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Anambra State Chapter has recognized Mrs Chinwe Okoli, Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, as the Upcoming Anambra State Female Achiever.
The award was presented at the monthly congress of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Center in Awka.
A Content Writer Mrs. Gift Nwigwe, representing Mrs. Okoli, expressed gratitude to NAWOJ for the gesture, describing it as commendable and worthy of emulation.
She used the opportunity to emphasize on the importance of adapting to the digital world and encouraged NAWOJ members to participate in the free training to stay relevant, stressing that it's essential for them to join forces to acquire the necessary skills.
Earlier, Comrade Ukpa Ewa presented a step-down training on the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, sponsored by ROLAC. Following the training, ROLAC's State Coordinator, Mrs. Josephine Onah, praised the trainees for their performance, particularly commending Comrade Uche Kalu for showcasing impressive FOI skills.
In her vote of thanks, the Chairperson of NAWOJ Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, expressed gratitude to the guest for taking the time to meet with NAWOJ members despite her busy schedule.
Comrade Ifejika also promoted food security by encouraging members to engage in backyard farming. To support this initiative, she gifted each member two tubers of yam to kick-start their farming journey. She advised members to adopt sustainable farming practices, emphasizing the importance of preserving seeds for future harvests.
These efforts, she said, demonstrate NAWOJ's commitment to empowering women and driving development in Anambra State.
