4 cheat deaths, as tanker with diesel crash with a tipper in Anambra

Four persons escaped deaths, on Friday, as a tipper driver had a headon collusion with a tanker near Igbariam junction, Awkuzu community in Oyi Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State.


FactcheckNg learnt that the incident occured at about 9:50 AM when the driver of the Mack tipper vehicle lost control and hit with a red HOWO tanker with the registration number KWR133YQ.


According to the State Sector Commander, Bridget Asekhauno, out of four persons involved in the crash, one male adult sustained bruises and currently receiving medical attention at Chira Hospital in Awkzu.


Asekhauno, who explained that no fatalities were reported, wished the injured speedy recover, even as she emphasized the importance of drivers exercising caution and adhering to traffic regulations to prevent such incidents.


 "We urge all road users to remain vigilant and cooperate with our officers to ensure safety on our roads. We are committed to working tirelessly to reduce road traffic accidents and enhance public safety in Anambra State."


"The FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje is currently managing traffic and awaiting the removal of the vehicles to facilitate the free movement of other vehicles. The tanker, which was loaded with diesel, is undergoing transloading into another tanker.


"The FRSC Anambra State Command urges motorists to drive cautiously and exhibit patience, particularly on highways. We also encourage witnesses to promptly report accidents to our command centers or through the FRSC toll-free number 122," she stated.
