Police Command Pledges Neutrality, Professionalism Ahead of Anambra Gubernatorial Election

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has underscored the importance of maintaining professionalism, vigilance, and impartiality among police officers in the lead-up to the November 8 governorship election.
During a recent visit to the Nnewi Area Command, CP Orutugu assessed the readiness of personnel and formations for the election and reminded officers of the Inspector-General of Police's directive to remain neutral and uphold the highest standards of conduct.
The Commissioner also used the opportunity to appeal to the Ndi Nnewi community to seek redress through competent courts of law and to consider joining the Nigeria Police Force to enhance representation and patriotism. Stakeholders in the Nnewi area welcomed the visit and commended the police command's proactive measures to ensure a peaceful election.
The Area Commander, ACP Augustine Oyamiele, also assured commitment to upholding professionalism and ensuring a hitch-free election.
