Inyom Edo Development Union Launches N30 Million Market Project and Community Awards

The Inyom Edo Development Union, Ndi Orieke Ohafia, is gearing up to launch a transformative N30 million market project alongside a special Award Presentation Ceremony on December 29, 2025. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. at the Amaedo Primary School Field, promising a day of community unity and progress.
According to press release signed by the National Public Relations Officer and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Chief Mrs Uche Kalu, the initiative aims to create a modern market space that will improve trading conditions for women, boost local commerce, and provide long-term economic benefits for the Amaedo community.
The event will be chaired by Most Rev. Idika Agwu Imeri, who will also serve as the Chief Launcher, and is anticipated to mobilize significant community support for the initiative, according to Chief Mrs. Kalu. Prominent dignitaries, including HRH Eze Elder Obuma K. Obuma, Okwara Eze 1 of Amaedo Ohafor Autonomous Community, and HRM Supt. (Rtd) Chief Ibe Kalu Mba, Ezieogo Ndi Orieke Ohafia, are expected to attend, underscoring the project's cultural importance and impact on the community.
The leadership of Inyom Edo, comprising National President, Ugwueze Dorathy Nwoke, National PRO and Chairman Organizing Committee Chief Mrs. Uche Kalu, and Committee Secretary, Barr. Love Ibem, issued a statement emphasizing the imperative of establishing a secure and organized commercial hub. The statement underscores the pivotal role of women traders in driving Amaedo's economy, rendering the market development project a paramount priority.
Funds raised during the launch will be directed toward building new market stalls, improving sanitary facilities, and adding vital modern amenities, setting the stage for sustainable economic growth in the area.
In addition to the market initiative, the event will celebrate outstanding individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth of the Ohafia community. These awards aim to inspire ongoing dedication to local development.
President General of the Amaedo Community Development Union (ACDU), Engr. Kalu Uduma Ibem, along with notable community members, philanthropists, and friends of Amaedo, will be in attendance to show their support.
