Anambra Govt Donates 30 Toyota Hilux Vans to Police, Receives 28 New ASPs in Security Boost

The Anambra State Police Command received 30 Toyota Hilux patrol vehicles from the Anambra State Government on Thursday, January 8, 2026, bolstering security operations and public safety across the state.
Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo presented the vehicles at the Old Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.
On the other hand, Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu formally presented 28 newly commissioned Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), all hailing from Anambra State, to Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo. These officers had completed their training at the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano, and were subsequently posted to Anambra State.
CP Orutugu highlighted that the new vehicles and officers will boost police visibility, response times, and operational efficiency statewide.
Welcoming the ASPs, Governor Soludo urged them to embody Anambra's slogan, “a Light to the Nation,” through exemplary service, discipline, and professionalism. He stressed dedication, integrity, and commitment to maintaining peace and security.
Handing over the vehicles, the governor reaffirmed the state's ongoing support for the Nigeria Police Force in enhancing safety.
Dignitaries at the event included the Secretary to the State Government, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Chief of Staff, senior police officers, and other stakeholders.
