‎Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, joined Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and top security chiefs at a special church service today at St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral in Awka, marking the start of 2026 Armed Forces Day celebrations.

‎The solemn event drew senior government officials and highlighted the sacrifices of Nigerian Armed Forces personnel who have lost their lives defending the nation's unity and security.

‎Attendees paid tribute to the patriotism and bravery of these fallen heroes, reflecting on their enduring legacy.

‎CP Orutugu stressed the need for unity in security efforts. "Inter-agency collaboration and community support are crucial in maintaining security across the state," he said, underscoring the power of collective action for public safety.

‎The service sets the tone for broader Armed Forces Day activities honoring military service and resilience.
