ICPC, NBA Join Forces to Fight Corruption, Boost Ethics

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has partnered with the Nigerian Bar Association Anti-Corruption Committee (NBA-ACC) to fight corruption and promote ethics in Nigeria's legal profession.
The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ICPC Headquarters in Abuja. A second MoU was also signed between the NBA-ACC and the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN) to boost institutional and human capacities.
ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, said the partnership was a response to the need for collective action against corruption, adding that "integrity flourishes where partnerships are forged." He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the NBA and ICPC in strengthening the justice system and restoring public trust.
NBA-ACC Chairman, Professor Babafemi A. Badejo, described the partnership as a step towards building a Nigeria with robust institutions and professional integrity. The MoU with ICPC focuses on promoting integrity, capacity building, and policy reforms, while the agreement with ACAN prioritizes education, training, and research.
Both parties are confident the collaboration will promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria's legal profession and governance.
