Anambra Govt Boosts Info Officers' Digital Skills to Promote Development Agenda

The Anambra State Government has launched a Capacity Building Workshop for information officers, aiming to equip them with the skills needed to thrive in the digital era. The training, which is being conducted in batches over a month, brings together information officers from all 21 local government areas and government agencies across the state.
In his remark, the Commissioner of Information, Dr. Law Mefor, urged officers to be proactive, create engaging content, and promote each other's work. He emphasized the importance of social media, saying, "If you're not strong on social media, you're off the trend."
Dr. Mefor noted that the workshop aims to enhance the officers' skills in content creation, digital communication, and strategic reporting, enabling them to effectively disseminate information and promote the state's development agenda.
Also in her remark, the Supervisory Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oby Uchegbo, stressed the need for empowerment, stating, "One cannot give what he or she don't have but must be empowered on how to move forward."
Earlier, the Acting Director of Information, Mr. Emmanuel U. Emmanuel, emphasized the importance of adapting to digital trends, saying, "We must meet up with the current trend and the governor's demand.
Participants, including Comrade Rita Okonkwo and Comrade Stephanie Isima, thanked Governor Soludo for the opportunity, saying it would enhance their work and meet the growing demand for visual content. They also expressed their sincere appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary for their unwavering dedication and efforts in driving the growth of the ministry and enhancing the welfare of its staff.
The training includes pre-tests and presentation of exercises by participants, with a focus on content creation, social media, and other areas relevant to modern reportage.
