CP Urges Interfaith Harmony as Anambra Marks Ash Wednesday, Ramadan

Anambra State's Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has called on Christians and Muslims to come together in prayer for the nation's peace and prosperity, as the state marks Ash Wednesday and Ramadan.
In a statement, Orutugu emphasized the shared values of repentance, self-reflection, and spiritual growth that unite the two faiths, urging adherents to show love, forgiveness, and tolerance towards one another.
The memorial service, held at the Command Headquarters, Awka, featured a church service and the symbolic application of ashes on the foreheads of Christian faithful, marking the beginning of Lent. Orutugu reassured Anambra residents of the police command's commitment to protecting lives and property, while urging citizens to remain law-abiding and cooperative with security agencies.
CP Orutugu noted that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has also conveyed his warm felicitations to the Muslim community, voicing his earnest prayers for prevailing peace and enduring prosperity in the state.
As Anambra State marks these notable religious observances, the appeal for unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding among adherents of different faiths has gained significant resonance.
