The traditional ruler of Ogidi, His Royal Majesty, Pharm. Alex Onyido (Igwe Ezechuamagha 1 of Ogidi), has thrown his weight behind Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue’s aspiration for the Anambra Central Senatorial seat, declaring that “Ogidi stands firmly behind its son.”
Ven. Ikezue, a frontline aspirant, paid a homage visit to the revered monarch on Friday, where he laid out his vision for the senatorial zone. He anchored his aspiration on four pillars: inclusive development, youth empowerment, infrastructural growth, and stronger representation for the people of Anambra Central.
Describing his message as one of “service, unity, and sustainable progress,” Ven. Ikezue told the Igwe that his goal is to ensure no community in the zone is left behind in policy and development.
Responding, HRM Pharm. Onyido warmly received the aspirant and commended his courage and sense of responsibility. The monarch expressed confidence in Ven. Ikezue’s leadership potential and openly declared his support for the senatorial ambition.
“The monarch’s endorsement signals a strong grassroots base for the aspirant,” observers at the palace noted, adding that the visit reflects a growing wave of traditional and community backing for Ikezue’s bid.
Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue’s consultation with the Ogidi royal father further positions him as a credible, people-oriented candidate in the race for the Anambra Central Senatorial seat.
