‎Ikezue Urges Christians to Embrace Love, Forgiveness as Path to God’s Blessings

‎The Labour Party candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Ven. Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, has enjoined Christians to embrace genuine love, forgiveness, and reconciliation as essential prerequisites for receiving God’s blessings and healing.

‎Delivering a sermon during the monthly market prayer session on June 17, Ven. Ikezue emphasized that love is intrinsic to God’s nature and must be reflected in the conduct of believers. He urged Christians to demonstrate care through practical expressions such as cordial greetings, kindness to neighbours, assistance to the needy, and mutual respect, rather than treating colleagues, neighbours, or fellow congregants as adversaries.

‎He cautioned that harbouring hatred, bitterness, and unforgiveness constitutes a spiritual impediment to divine intervention. He expressed concern that many seek God’s assistance while remaining unwilling to forgive those who have offended them reminding the congregation that God’s forgiveness is contingent on believers’ readiness to forgive others.

‎Referencing Christ’s plea for His persecutors, “Father, forgive them,” Ven. Ikezue stated that emulating Christ requires humility, sacrifice, and the disposition to extend grace even in the face of provocation. He encouraged Christians to regard personal hurts as opportunities to manifest God’s love, rather than as grounds for retaliation.

‎The senatorial candidate also called on believers to institutionalize forgiveness and selfless service as a way of life. He argued that authentic Christian faith is measured not solely by acts of worship, but by the capacity to love unconditionally. He added that communities founded on love and forgiveness provide a conducive environment for God’s blessings, healing, and peace to thrive.
