Rotary Club of Awka Metropolis to Honour NAWOJ Anambra Chair with Humanitarian Service Award

The Rotary Club of Awka Metropolis has announced plans to confer its Excellent Humanitarian Service Award on the Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika.
The award is in recognition of Ifejika’s inspirational and sterling leadership, humanitarian services and contributions to human development and nation building.
According to a Letter of Conferment of Award dated July 8, 2026, and signed by the Chair of the Installation Committee, Rtn. Emekalum Obiorah, and Installation Secretary, Rtn. Taiwo Aghagha, the award is based on the club’s assessment of the NAWOJ chairperson’s philanthropic track record and contributions to society.
The presentation will form part of activities marking the installation of Rtn. Kingsley Ndubueze Mmotoh as the 16th President of Rotary Club of Awka Metropolis.
The event will also feature the induction of new members, the launch of community service projects and presentation of other awards. The programme is scheduled to hold on August 16, at Best Western Meloch Hotel, Government House GRA, Awka, Anambra State.
The Rotary Club congratulated Ifejika on the recognition and expressed anticipation of the presence of her entourage at the occasion.
