Anambra Govt Calls for Active Citizen Participation in Continuous Voter Registration

By Chizoba Njaka

In furtherance of its commitment to consolidating democracy and promoting inclusive electoral participation, the Anambra State Government hereby encourages all eligible citizens to avail themselves of the opportunity presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, particularly in light of the forthcoming Governorship Election scheduled for November 8, 2025, and future electoral processes in Nigeria.

As stipulated in an official statement signed by the  Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, which commenced on July 8, 2025, and scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2025, presents a critical opportunity for all eligible voters to procure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and ensuring their active participation in the electoral process.
This endeavour is especially pertinent to three key groups: young adults who have recently attained voting age and are eligible to participate in the electoral process; individuals who have relocated to Anambra State and require transfer of their voter registration; and those who have lost or damaged their Permanent Voter Cards and require replacements.

The government hereby exhorts all eligible citizens who fall within the aforementioned categories to visit their nearest registration centre and complete the requisite registration formalities. This critical step is essential in ensuring the continued vitality and representativeness of our democratic system, wherein the will of the people is accurately reflected.
