No More Cult Gatherings: Anambra Police Issue Warning

In response to actionable intelligence and community feedback, Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered a clampdown on all unauthorized assemblies in the state. The move aims to preempt potential security breaches, particularly cult-related activities and retaliatory attacks, planned by the Neo-Black Movement of Africa.
CP Orutugu, noted that cult-related activities tend to thrive in areas with high student populations. In anticipation of potential security threats, he has preemptively strengthened security protocols by deploying the School Protection Squad and directing operatives to take a proactive stance. He further issued a formal appeal to proprietors of hospitality establishments, including hotels, lounges, and studio apartments, to refrain from hosting or facilitating any gatherings linked to cult groups or associated activities.
Additionally, the security deployment includes covert operations, with operatives strategically positioned at motor parks, commercial motorcycle (keke) parks, and other identified hotspots. This measure aims to preempt and promptly address any potential security breaches, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
Meanwhile, the Schools Protection Squad (SPS) is a flagship initiative launched by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, with the primary objective of ensuring the safety and security of educational institutions, students, and institutional infrastructure.
The State Command hereby advised the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, gatherings, or potential threats to law enforcement immediately. "We are committed to maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for all residents".
