Anambra Police Command Inducts 89 New ASPs into Officers' Mess

Anambra State Police Command has decorated 89 newly promoted Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in a ceremony held at the Command Headquarters, Awka. The event was attended by senior officers, family members, and well-wishers, marking a significant milestone in the careers of the officers.
Representing Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mantu Chong congratulated the officers and urged them to see their promotion as a call to greater responsibility. According to Chong, "Leadership in the Nigeria Police Force requires professionalism, discipline, and commitment to protecting lives and property".
He noted that promotion comes with higher expectations, adding that the officers must justify the confidence reposed in them by ensuring effective service delivery and upholding values of honesty, fairness, and accountability.
ASP Oliji Alfred, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, expressed gratitude to the Police Service Commission and the Force Headquarters for the elevation. He pledged that the officers would redouble their commitment to duty and live up to the expectations of their new ranks.
The ceremony featured the official induction of the officers into the Police Officers' Mess, marking their transition to the Officer Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force, followed by group photographs and induction formalities that reinforced the camaraderie and leadership ethos essential to their new roles.
