‎As residents of Anambra Central Senatorial District yearn for strong leadership, Rev. Canon Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, former clergy member has stepped up to restore peace, hope, and integrity through public service.

‎Hailing from Ikenga Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area, the Labour Party aspirant for the 2027 Anambra Central Senatorial election unveiled a seven-point mission statement rooted in biblical principles. It promises "righteous leadership" that puts constituents' welfare above partisan gains.

‎Speaking to communities at ward and local government levels, the priest-turned-politician addressed widespread disillusionment from past leaders' broken promises. Quoting Proverbs 29:2, he pledged principled governance free from transactional politics or self-interest."

‎I did not pursue politics by choice," Ikezue explained. "I was content in my ministerial role in the Province of Abuja Diocese of Gwagwalada. But I felt a divine call to public service. Since answering it, I've seen God's faithfulness. My mission serves the Church and tackles key issues, including unity across Christian denominations."

‎His legislative agenda includes: Rejecting corruption with full transparency, like public asset declarations; sponsoring bills on education, healthcare, youth empowerment, infrastructure, security, women's rights, and poverty alleviation (10 already drafted); advocating for the marginalized via town halls and initiatives; scrutinizing executive budgets and prioritizing education.

‎Other areas were: Channeling federal funds to local projects like schools, hospitals, and scholarships without vote-buying; Fighting injustice and promoting inclusion for vulnerable groups as well as partnering with Anambra Governor Prof. Charles Soludo for development.

‎Reverend Ikezue positioned his campaign as divinely directed, aiming to bring joy, peace, justice, and prosperity to Anambra Central's communities, including Idemili North, Awka, Njikoka, and Anaocha. "Righteous leadership ends groaning, oppression, corruption, and suffering," he declared.

‎As the 2027 elections approach, Ikezue's fusion of faith and policy could resonate in a region seeking alternatives to entrenched politics.
